If corruption/crimson/hallow gets too close to your NPC housing, your NPCs will move out. In addition, corruption/crimson, and hallow will spread and, given enough time, can engulf your entire map. In hardmode, tougher enemies spawn, new biomes are created, more NPCs will become available, and more events can happen. Upon defeating the Wall of Flesh, Hardmode will begin, and the Hallow biome will spawn. The Wall of Flesh will also drop 8 gold coins. It also may contain Healing Potions, the Breaker Blade, the Clockwork Assault Rifle, the Laser Rifle, and different types of emblems. It will always contain the Pwnhammer, which can be used to destroy Demon Altars. When defeated, the Wall of Flesh will leave a box made of Demonite Bricks suspended in the air.
If you can, you should also backup your world before fight the Wall of Flesh, just in case a common glitch happens to ruin your world, or, it turns out you weren't ready for Hardmode. Also, you should reforge some of your strong weapons to give them modifiers to deal more damage. It is also a good idea to get a Molten Pickaxe so you can mine the special ores that come out of the Demon Altars.

All emblems are buffed to a 20% increase. The Breaker Blade's damage is increased to 50. The Clockwork Assault Rifle's damage is increased to 25. For the rest of the battle, it continues doing stuff until it dies. If the player is in a 20 block radius of the boss, it will inflict all Pre-Hardmode vanilla debuffs. Once the boss is decreased to 25% it will shoot lasers much faster and become faster. The clone will also not shoot any other attacks and is invincible and is not needed to kill the boss. A half opaque clone will appear on the other side of the Wall Of Flesh and the Wall Clone gets a new attack - the legendary Fire Wall! Blasts of fire will act like sans bones coming from the clone of the boss. Once the boss health decreases to 50%, it will start shooting a oof ton of lasers extremely, extremely fast. This nightmare deals 157 / 190 / 256 / 350 damage! Luckily this attack only lasts for 2 seconds. 0.8 seconds after doing this, it will shoot a massive fiery beam that reaches to the other side of the underworld. Its two eyes will turn a fiery red in warning that then flickers back to normal and then flickers back to the fiery red and then flickers back to the normal again. The Wall Of Flesh, after shooting its lasers, will unleash the almighty Fire Blast attack. Same as normal mode but some drops are slightly buffed.
